On Dogs:
I love dogs, but I am not one of those people who love their dogs by letting them get away with murder. My dogs are taught with love and care, with kindness and most of all, we have an understanding that goes beyond words. I do not "train" my dogs, I speak to them. In turn, they teach me life-lessons that can be learned only by knowing the love of a dog.
The life I share with my dogs is a beautiful story written just for us. Each lesson, joy, sadness and frustration is a journey, a new chapter in our novel.
Bonding comes when a person and dog work and learn together, when they get frusterated together, when they reach goals as a team. The strongest bond between man and dog is the one built on trust, love and compassion. An understanding that is unspoken, yet more beautiful then any poetry.
You will have known true love when you have loved and been loved by a dog. A love so deep, so pure, so kind. A love that gives but never takes, a fearless, selfless love, a love that shines light on the darkest of shadows.
On Newfoundlands
April 2011
Currently residing in my home are two heart-breakingly stunning white and black Newfoundlands. Lex, about to celebrate his sixth birthday, holder of many titles, and top obedience Newf in 2008- Lex only needs one more CDX leg to complete his requirements for NCA’s Working Achievement award!
Flint, the two year old import from Sweden who completed all of his NCA working titles in the course of four months, and all before he was two years old, and now on his way to finishing his AKC Championship and AKC CD titles to complete NCA’s requirements for the Versatile Newfoundland award!
And me, the NCNC’s Working Dog Committee chair. I can safely say that I am more than a little obsessed with Newfoundlands! What can possibly be a better addiction? Beautiful dogs, exciting activities and so many good friends who above all else, love Newfs too.

sept. 2007
When I set eyes on my first Newf, an eight week old Landseers who I would later call “Lex”, I knew from that moment I was hooked on Newfs. A dear fellow Newf owner would later tell me, “I am so excited for you. Your life with Newfies is just beginning; we have a very special breed of dogs.”
I wouldn’t know how right she was until April 1st 2007 when Lex and I qualified in our very first Draft Test earning our “Draft Dog” title. A few months later we would go on to earn our very first Water Dog “WD” title. Everything is so new, so wonderful.
Yes, Lex and I has had our share of bumps in the road, brick walls and stormy seas, but at the end of the day we’re right here together, the roads smooth, the brick walls broken down, and the seas calm. My life with Newfs is only two years old; I’m still new and still learning. There is so much to this breed. I have had many breeds, but no breed of dog in this world would ever live up to a Newfoundland dog. I’m glad to say, “I’m hooked on Newfs!”

On the Website:
This website was born many years ago as a way of sharing my love of my little ones with friends. Years later it is still, simply, a work of love. Each photograph, art work and word about my dogs came from the deepest part of my soul.
